If You're thinking about CYJ....

We're so excited that you're thinking about becoming part of the CYJ family. We know that choosing a summer camp is VERY important and sometimes very confusing! We suggest that you look through this website, including the photos and videos, but that's just a start!

*Call Jamie or Marcy, the directors, and they'll be happy to answer any questions about our program. They'll help you figure out whether we're the right place (we hope so!), and whether your child is ready for overnight camp.

*Talk to other CYJ parents. We can connect you with other camp families either in your area or with children the same age.

*Book a tour during the summer or during the off-season. Come see us in action! We conduct tours six days a week while camp is in session (no Saturday tours available). Tours must be scheduled in advance; sorry, no walk ins! Tours are available at 10, 11, 3 and 3:45 pm. Sundays are our busiest day!

*Schedule a get-together! We're happy to come to your home (we promise, no pressure!) or we can arrange a meeting at your temple, community center or even a local coffee shop. We're also available for Skype or Facetime presentations, too!

What Kids Are Saying:

I love camp sooooo much! I look forward to it all year long. I can’t wait to go back!
The best part about camp is being with my friends, being able to choose so many activities, and the food.

I love hanging out with my friends and doing everything with them!
It’s a great Jewish environment and a fantastic place to make friendships. I really liked getting to know my counselor from Israel.

I’m always telling my friends at home about our camp. Camp Young Judaea is amazing!
YJ teaches you how to become more independent. And the best part is that you have FUN!
I loved waterskiing, A&C, my bunk, my counselors, the food, swimming, sports, and song sessions.
CYJ is the best camp ever! I really don’t know what I’d do with myself if I didn’t have my summers at YJ to look forward to!

What Parents Are Saying:

What my children experience on a day-to-day basis at Camp Young Judaea can’t be put into words. They have gotten such a sense of themselves and their Judaism and have developed friendships for a lifetime.
My daughter loves the freedom of choice that the clubs program offers. It’s a great place for a child to experience guided independence.
They talk about it all year until it is time to come back. They feel more Jewish and we just love the confidence they gain from being away from home.
My kids are more connected to being Jewish in a way that feels natural. They’re creating great friendships that will last a lifetime, and both of my children are excited about going to Israel with the camp. They both love being part of the YJ community.
Last year was our son’s first experience and it was totally positive! He proudly refers to CYJ as ‘my camp’ on a regular basis. From our point of view, we could see that the camp is well-organized and supervised by people who love and understand children (and parents). Our contact with the counselors and staff made us feel confident that he would have fun, learn new skills, be safe, and enjoy the Jewish and other programming.
I think our daughters’ relationship with each other got stronger. They had a really wonderful time together — and spent a lot of time together — and I have seen this closeness continue to grow.
