Jamie Marks

Hi, I’m Jamie Marks, co-director of Camp Young Judaea. I’m lucky to have the best job in the world. I started at camp in 1989 and got into trouble my first year in Bet when the then-director called my mother and told her I had a “fresh mouth.” I immediately straightened up and didn’t cause any more trouble!! ☺ I’m a member of Daled ’93 and I traveled to Israel with the incredible CYJ Gadna program, then spent several great years on staff, first working on the Waterfront and then as programming assistant. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2000 with a degree in Business focusing on Hospitality and Tourism Management, and started working in the “real world” but my heart was always with camp. After only a few months in the “real world” I joined CYJ full time and I have never looked back. I am happy to say I have never missed a summer! I met my husband at CYJ.  He proposed to me in front of the whole camp in 2014 and we got married in 2015 on the shores of Lake Baboosic at CYJ.  I’m a very active committee member of the group Aid For Cancer Research and I also volunteer at a local animal shelter. I love working with campers, staff and their families. I’m always available to help, either by email or by phone, with everything from packing tips and bunking questions to activity choices! Like so many of you, my best friends in the world and some of my most favorite memories are from camp. I’m looking forward to another great summer!  Feel free to contact me at jamie@campyoungjudaea.com
